File Transfers on Yahoo in Kopete

Running OS 11.2x86_64, KDE 4.3.5, & Kopete 0.80.2

When using the Yahoo protocol to chat with some friends in Kopete I found that file transfers don’t work. They are supposed to.

The file transfer dialog comes up, no errors show, and the other end in notified of the transfer, but it never actually starts to send the file. It just sits there until you cancel the transfer.

Anyone know of which port needs to be opened in the firewall or router for this to work? Kopete’s docs say file transfers are supported, and I could use some help trouble shooting this. Thanks in advance.

Just checking but the other side has to accept the file. If they are then maybe that is where the problem is.

My friends all got notification of the transfer & accepted it.

This is only a problem with the Yahoo protocol, others like ICQ work fine. I should also mention that the same thing happens in both Kopete & Pidgin when on the Yahoo network.

Sounds like Yahoo changed their protocol again.
