File sharing

What’s the best program for filesharing? And could I share from opensuse to w7 starter?

SAMBA can be used on the openSUSE so that directories on the Linux machine can be made available as Windoze shares. Also, SAMBA client can access Windoze shares. The best place to look for information regarding this is Swerdna’s docs:

I’m sorry but I’m new to networking so I dont understand it very well. But why do I have to edit the codes and not just enter the info the program ask for when opening, even tho idk what to choose… I don’t have too much time tho so I haven’t sit to work with it. I made a quick scan on the link lol…

You are trying to do something in inflexible windoze. Windoze is like a frog in the well, it doesn’t know anything other than Windoze. So, we need to ‘emulate’ Windoze in Linux to make it believe that we have only Windoze around.

SAMBA server under Linux emulates the SMB/CIFS protocol and your Windoze machine will think that it has another Windoze machine in the neighborhood! The complexity in the setup is needed to handle all the intricacies involved in this.

Great post !!! It sets the trouble where it really is: in the windu corner…
