File search results not visible in gnome shell

Hi,

I’m running an up-to-date TW installation (20160826 at the moment) and I recall that ‘some time ago’ entering file names and even file content snippets in gnome shell used to invoke the desktop search and present results from files.

Today this does not work, but I’ve verified that by using tracker-needle I can perform those searches.

What can I do to make file searches appear in the gnome shell interface?

Thanks,

Robert

Hi
Check the Settings → Searching and Indexing, maybe it’s not running when you expect, there are lots of settings in there (I turn it all off…).

The settings check out fine. Also ‘tracker status’ seems to agree

$ tracker status

Remaining space on database partition: 213.5 GB (21.35%)
All data miners are idle, indexing complete
