File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/update/factory-non-oss

anyone else getting this error when attempting to do a “zypper dup” command ?

it has been happening here for the last 6 hours or so.

I am getting it. If you type the URL into a browser, it comes up as not available. It breaks at “/factory.” “update” is also missing the factory. So, either the repository URLs have changed, or someone didn’t import the new directories.

I sent a message to the Factory mailing list with some details.

I am not having a problem. But then, I do not have update-factory-nonoss configured. I guess that was a recent addition.

I suggest that you leave the repo there (do not delete it), but mark it as disabled. Easiest is to use Yast repositories to mark as disabled.

My guess is that the repo is empty or perhaps doesn’t exist yet. I do have the factory-update repo (but not non-oss) configured, and that one is working and providing the bash security updates.

Previously, there wasn’t an update repo for factory. I’m guessing that they created it to take care of the occasions when the next factory snapshot is failing at openQA, but there is a needed security update. Until that happens for non-oss software, there’s no urgency for them to initialize that repo properly.

Incidentally, apart from the bash security updates, not much is happening. There have been a few packman updates, but nothing else apart from bash.

It looks to be working now. “factory” redirects to the 13.2 directory.
