File './i686/glibc-2.14.1-14.14.1.i686.rpm' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/update

Hi,

after installing 12.1, I tried to install online software updates, but that always fails with the following message:

File ‘./i686/glibc-2.14.1-14.14.1.i686.rpm’ not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.1/

I reloaded package information several times, but the error remains the same. Maybe repos are in a different state tomorrow, but being somewhat frustrated that my install didn’t fully succeed: does anybody else see the problem or know something about it?

It also happens when I try to install Nvidia proprietary driver, so I guess it’s a common dependency that’s broken in the update/12.1 repo.

Thanks for any information,
Jörg

Did you do a repo refresh? Sometimes the package is updated between the last time you refreshed and when you actually fetch.

This is the same problem that I am having. Today I got a notice that I had some updates ready but when I try to install them it craps out with this same error. So now I have fifteen updates I can’t get installed. Any one have ideas as to how to fix this? Someone mentioned refreshing the repositories but I am unsure as how to accomplish this. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

I have the same problem today
Refresh does nothing
Mine is looking for
glibc-2.14.1-14.14.1.i686.rpm
glibc-locale-2.14.1-14.14.1.i686.rpm
glibc-devel-2.14.1-14.14.1.i686.rpm

Index of /update/12.1
Has no I686 folder
So until it is fixed no update can occur
Until it can find the the update cannot finish
RPM search also cannot find these files

If you want to try to refresh
Go to Yast
Repositories
You can highlight one and refresh
Or you can refresh all

Now it does. Maybe it’s fixed already?

Yes the i686 folder is back
It is now working again
