Oke so for a long time (since release 10.0) i have been trying opensuse, it never really sticked with me do to the slow package managment compared to debian. But now that is a lot faster i want to give it another try but before i do i have 2 questions.
how do i get my gnome menus like that of ubuntu, not “applications -> games -> arcade -> insert list of games”
but “applications -> games -> insert list of games”
how do i install ms core fonts? with ubuntu there is a simple package if there is 1 for opensuse i cant find it.
Re the second question, if you have a Windows partition, there is an option within Yast to install them from there. If you don’t, they certainly came with the recent OpenOffice 2.4 download. So they may be there anyway.

If you right click on the ‘computer’ button you’ll see a option to remove
that menu.
Now right click on the panel somewhere and select to add stuff to your
panel.
You’ll should get a list of stuff you can add, one of them is the
traditional gnome menu, i can’t remember the name, but it should be
obvious.

There was a script for this via online update in previous versions of suse
but not anymore.
So i downloaded the script myself and run it as root.
You can find it here: http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/scripts/
I think you’ll need the package cabextract for this script to work, wich
should be installed by default, if not it’s easy to install via yast.
Last time I checked the GNOME menu editor doesn’t support modifying shortcuts that come as part of packages. So any games that you see installed right now in that menu can not be modified.
