Just have to figure out how i can participate in it more so that my voice gets heart too.
I can not contribute really in a technical sense, since this is not what i do or really understand.
But perhaps i can express my opinion or vote for one or the other choice there is.
Need to go dig some more.

You need to have a read here Portal:How to participate - openSUSE build up your contributions and then apply for openSUSE membership, then get to vote on some of these issues…

Ah, you are right, I remembered incorrectly. That was the first vote I saw.
For the vote for the board election, we usually get an email requesting our
vote, but not for the release numbering thing. If there have been other
votes, there has been no emails and I wouldn’t notice.
