This was the KDE4.4 RC3 desktop. When KDE4.4 comes in the repos i’ll change it
I haven’t changed it much from the Gnome default, just the background…

Oh, and since I was told how to change the Gnome Menu shortcut links, I don’t have those icons on the desktop anymore (I prefer a clean desktop).
I upgraded to kde 4.4 and here’s the sceenshot.

This is my “System” desktop. Launch & Search activity, Oxygen colors icon set with some personal additions. Panel autohide.
Gertjan,
How are you getting the top widgets, mine started with just 3.
When you hover over an icon a star is shown and when you click on the star the program is added on the top:)
No star here
I’ll try re-setting the plasma configs
like that one…I upgraded to KDE 4.4 also:
There’s a cashew in the left bottom corner. When widgets are unlocked, the page can be unlocked too. That’s when the stars appear, that’s when the items on top have a “-” to remove them.
To add: I just cleaned out the plasma* files, removed activity from every desktop, then configured new ones.
If you like this one so much, try XFCE for a desktop; at first I thought it was XFCE (the mouse on the kicker button…).
I started a new .kde4
I know - overkill:)
But I was due for it. And it was simple enough for me to get my settings back over for my applications, anything unrelated to plasma.
I did Firefox the other day too.
Everything is back in place for me now and all features work nice and smoothly and squeaky clean;)
My other screenshot is xfce, this one for february is kde. Congrats for being nominated as a moderator. Well deserve.
Here’s my screen for February. KDE 4.3.1.

Nice and simple desktop with pretty much the default theme (I love it!) The lovely lady is a Japanese pop singer named YUI. She writes, arranges, and sing her songs unlike many other popular artists today…
