Here we are mostly users like you, so asking us will probably not get it
done. However, as the packages are distributed from a mirror structure,
not under openSUSE control, how do you propose to get the statistical
data needed for that feature?

i dont know how opensuse mirrors work. but if slave mirrors report statistical datas to master mirror periodically, this will not be a problem.
I think some openSUSE devs are aware of the increasingly popular “software centre” approach to delivering packages, that includes those features. I expect the KDE project is also interested in that facility, and the hope is that Apper/PackageKit will develop along those lines.
Sorry for the ignorance, what is “s.o.o website”?
I totally agree with your proposal though, great idea.
s.o.o is short for software.opensuse.org. i saw lots of opensuse people spoke that here.

i think the OP intended to write “o.s.o. website” but i don’t know why
folks think it is cool to make up stuff and expect everyone to just “get
it”…
maybe “oS.o” communicates a lot better than “s.o.o.” or “o.s.o” but i
prefer “openSUSE website” which leaves very few, if any, questions…
i can, however commend the OP for now using “suse website,” “SuSE
website,” “OpenSuse Website” or “SUSE website”…

Could be S.O.S. - SUSE Open Software
i agree. this kind of abbreviations may cause unnecessary misunderstanding. i will avoid this from now on.
