What was your favorite desktop file for SUSE in the past or present?
My favorite was in Suse 10.0 and it had a light blue background with the Suse logo in the upper right area and faint white rectangular box outlines in the desktop to break up the light blue background. I liked that so much I copied it onto a disk and used it for later installs of newer versions of Suse. Well, I moved and lost the disk and can no longer add it into the current install. Anyone have 10.0 desktop files on a hard drive somewhere?
I kind of liked that background for 12.1 but I like the “firefly” thing going on in 12.2 on the startup. I think I’d like to go with that on startup with the dark background.
Well, for me the issue is that the desktop I like is pre opensuse group and I cannot find it anywhere. I had previously bought the releases every time as the professional version so I could have the book and the media. The blue desktop I liked was only in 10.0. It was dropped out in 10.1 onward which was why I had a copy of the desktop file saved on a CD ROM disk that I have now lost…

Yes, that is the very one I was describing. Where did you find it? I
looked in the earlier link offered for a while and gave up…
Is it out there somewhere to download?
Cheers.

I was looking for 1024x768 for an old T-23 Think Pad. I downloaded the one you uploaded and it looks good. I am also downloading the old desktop files from the GOS link and will look through all of those for variants.
thanks all for the help everybody…
Oh, I also like the firefly effect on the 12.2 boot screen and wish it was in 12.3… Each time the darker desktop choices have been offered for SUSE versions in the past I have chosen another, lighter or brighter theme. The darker themes seem OK to me on a desk top computer but too dark for use in laptops. Just an opinion with only a value of 1 user, I suppose.
What other desktops have been favorites for all of you?

Thanks for the file! I have it in my T-23 now and will burn a back up CD ROM of it again. This version of the desktop is not in the GOS downloads. I guess it was not as popular as others or the simple SuSE with the chameleon without the Novell mention was not kept for trademark reasons. ?? Who knows…
Other favorites desktop? Or, what is your current desktop? Snap a desktop photo and share with everyone? I guess you all know what I am using for a desktop image. lol!
