Failed to reset client Failed to reset get-updates

Shortly after opensuse 11 boots up and i have the desktop i get the following :
Failed to reset client

Failed to reset get-updates

Any ideas on how to get rid of this please ?

Go to Kmenu > Yast > Online Update Config & register
that will setup an “Update” repro

then your problem should go away.

You should also do an “Online Update” after you register to get all the latest security fixes:)

Hello and thanks so far,

I think i am using gnome, but ran yast configuration and then let it update. I did the online update and re booted and it still comes up ?

unionjak,

I’m having this too and it intermittantly still shows up
from time to time. There’s a bug in on it.

Not sure how, but after pressing something in yast,
an icon appeared in the lower left of screen, downloaded alot of stuff…no more error.

How do i check which version of opensuse i have, because i think the problem may be that i was using the beta opensuse 11.

Check your version Niclas, and try to upgrade to the proper opensuse 11 ?

Cheers all,
steve

cat /etc/SuSE-release

I’m running with a fully patched openSUSE 11.0
As I said it’s intermittent. Doesn’t always show up. I think it has to do
with the repos.

For opensuse 11 gnome version
be sure you are connected to the internet then
computer>yast (enter root password)
then scroll to “software” and click “configure online software update”
follow the wizard accepting the defaults
wait for the wizard to download and configure the repos
done

I checked my version too, openSuSE 11.0 (i586)
version=11.0.

Same issue with my 3 test boxes. We are looking at putting OpenSuSE 11 into 3 labs in my school district. Sure would be nice if we could kill of this error message.
