Hello.
At first, sorry for my bad English.
So, I’m new in using openSuse and I’ve a problem with my Internet.
I have a second partition on my Computer with windows XP, and there is everything working fine. I have no idea what could be the problem. The only Note I have is that when I shutdown openSuse, there comes this message:
services in runlevel 5: network -failed.
I hope you can help me.
The I-net worked when i rebootet sometimes… I have installed a nvidia graphic-card driver and I rebootet. Now I see the message “waiting for mandotery devices” and it counts down to 0. Also, at the boot-loader is a new field with the name “xen – openSuse…”.
How do you connect to the internet? Via a router or direct via modem?
You might try to give the machine a static ip address, in openSUSE as well as in XP, but a different ip for each.
Example: router internal ip is 192.168.1.1, XP 192.168.1.100, openSUSE 192.168.1.110, default gateway should be 192.168.1.1, you’d have to fill out the nameservers in the networksettings
