There is a reported bug in virtualbox-host-kmp-(default|desktop)-4.0.0_k2.6.37-6.1
In order to load the vboxdrv module it is necessary to install virtualbox-devel at the same time.

This issue is fixed with virtualbox-host-kmp-default-4.0.2_k2.6.37-2.1 etc. now in the Virtualization/openSUSE_Factory/ reository. It is no longer necessary to install the devel package.

I think you would need the kernel-source and kernel-devel from HEAD, plus the “Base Developement” pattern for 11.1; then install:
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.0.2/VirtualBox-.0-4.0.2_69518_openSUSE111-1.x86_64.rpm
or
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.0.2VirtualBox-.0-4.0.2_69518_openSUSE111-1.i586.rpm
which will hopefully build the appropriate vboxnetflt.ko, vboxnetadp.ko, and vboxdrv.ko modules for you.

do not seem to have the corresponding sources available. Only the vanilla sources are there and do not seem to work with the “desktop-kernel”.
