F5 System V . Should be on install menu and notes and on download page!

1 after 5 (yes five) days of trying to upgrade OpenSUSE 11.4 to 12.1 . I find why it does not start on log on. With older computer I must use F5 System V to get it to progress beyond log on screen without a complete failure.
2 This should have been highlighted in the install menu with an option to save this as the default system.
3. I had to load a Live Linux Ubuntu to get this information. As Ubuntu latest version 11.10 actually works out of box , I almost changed from using OpenSuse to Ubuntu after many years with SuSE
