A very simple thing (I suppose), but I don’t know how to resolve.
I’ve installed recently Leap 42.1, kde.
I noticed that in konqueror (I use it as file manager), context menu (right click) for a .zip archive there is not the option “Extract” that I’ve always seen in previous versions. How can I make it appear?
It appears in dolphin, though.
Thanks.
Well, Ark is KF5 based in Leap, so it installs its service menu to the KF5 location (/usr/share/kservices5/ServiceMenus/).
Dolphin finds that because Dolphin 15.08.x is also KF5 based.
But Konqueror is still a KDE4 application.
As a workaround, you could copy/symlink Ark’s service menu files to /usr/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/ or copy/symlink them to ~/.kde4/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/ (only affects this particular user, but doesn’t need root privileges to do).
The necessary files are:
- for “Extract” ark_servicemenu.desktop
- for “Compress” ark_addtoservicemenu.desktop
Great! It works flawlessly.
Thanks!
