External screen brightness

Hello everyone
I reinstalled Tumbleweed (KDE) on Monday on my laptop (SlimBook Excalibur) and after installation I was able to control brightness of an external screen connected to the laptop.
Today I tried to correct brightness and found out that I can only see my built-in-screen.
This morning there was an update but I can remember of another one this week.
Anyone knows about it? Has anyone else the same problem?

Thank you
Theodore

Hi,

I have similar issues since several weeks. At one day the control for the external brightness is available and at the next day it’s gone. My impression is, this is changing randomly.
Ok, this does not really help, but you are not the only one where the brightness functions for external displays comes and goes.

Thank you very much for your answer…
At least, I’m not feeling alone
I didn’t see it again even after tonight’s update (snapshot 06122024).
Anyway, I can live with that… Hope it gets fixed some day…

Hi,

today, only the the brightness slider for the external display is shown but not for the notebook screen. When removing the cable for the external screen, the slider for the notebook screen appears and after connecting the external screen again, both sliders are there .

Best,

Michael

Hello @michaelhust
I tried it with no luck :frowning:
I also installed kernel 6.12.4 with same result…
Anyway, I found some other workaround…
Will inform the results…
