exe file updates downloading through yast?

This is confusing me, I went into software management to update some of
the files.

It’s spent ten minutes before i killed it saying it was downloading and
installing font exe files. Is this normal? I didn’t think exe files
were installed in linux, not only that by why when I am only signed up
for opensuse repositories are they download it through software
management from some other website?

…exe files aren’t built for Linux in most cases, but Linux is great in
that it CAN run them if you want with something like wine, CrossOver
Office, Cedega, etc. Are these invalid? Probably not… just look
like fonts to me. You could try to find the packages extracting these
and see if you trust them, though.

Good luck.

Oh, and how could I forget… .exe applications written in .NET can be
run in mono, which I believe comes by default with SUSE distributions
(not confirmed).

Good luck.

It’s ok
It’s MSttfonts
It’s been added probably by another application you were installing.
Same happened to me. It’s fine.
