well hello every1.
i have been using openSUSE for quite a long time for now and thought of trying the 12.1 release launched recently.
i found a really annoying bug.It goes like this::
Whenever i discharge my laptop battery and attach the charger, after some time the cpu consumption increases upto 90+%.
idk i m dual booting with windows and didnt found any problem there. But after i restart it, it works fine then. i dont know what the real problem is but i believe its the systemd feature. its frustrating to start your machine again just to get your work done in time.
intel ironlake graphics;
320gb hdd, 4gb ram…
i hope for quick reply cuz my end semesters are coming up and i dont wanna be stuck with this issue.
When your CPU usage is high could you post the output from top?
What process(es) consume that amount of CPU and which desktop
environment are you using?
If you use kde just press [CTRL][ESC] to startup the system monitor (for
gnome I do not know) or open a terminal and run “top”.
PC: oS 11.4 (dual boot 12.1) 64 bit | Intel Core firstname.lastname@example.orgGHz | KDE
4.6.0 | GeForce GT 420 | 16GB Ram
Eee PC 1201n: oS 11.4 64 bit | Intel Atom email@example.comGHz | KDE 4.7.3 |
nVidia ION | 3GB Ram
Also at the boot screen you can press F5 to select systemV (it that right?) instead of systemd, so you can see if it is the cause of your problem as you suspect.
i tried the system v mode but still the same and also no excessive cpu consumptions shown in top…
Are you running KDE or Gnome 3?
Does the CPU activity drop back down to normal when your not doing anything?
im using gnome 3 but tried kde also.same issue
yes the cpu drops back to normal when idle
