I’m actually using PAN for my normal usage - but the version of evo I
checked with is 2.28.2 on 11.2 here.
Looking at the logfile (I have it set up for e-mail as well, so there’s a
lot of extra junk that comes in), 2.28.2 doesn’t issue an over command,
just an xover command.

I found your bug and added some info to it - it looks like Evolution
doesn’t check to see what the server considers to be valid commands; OVER
is (I believe) deprecated in favor of XOVER, and it seems that Highwinds
(the makers of our NNTP server software) didn’t implement it since they
implemented XOVER.

Thank you I will use thunderbird until the bug gets fixed. Or maybe
forever. I am sending this from thunderbird just to try it out

I can confirm that it’s working.
I’ve also suggested we submit a bug to the maker of our server’s software
since it also seems that it shouldn’t just hang up on an invalid command.
