Evolution groupware

Hi. I wonder if someone here can tell me a) if Evolution groupware is in the repos for Opensuse, and if so, which version. Most are shipping with 3.2.3. Very buggy, just awful. The Evolution people are up to 3.10.x, much better series of releases.

Thanks.

If you install openSUSE 13.1 then you can get Evolution 3.10.2
Refer :- http://software.opensuse.org/package/evolution

Version 3.10.2
openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.11.6-4-desktop

Evolution for openSUSE 13.1 is at version 3.10.2, it is part of the
standard repositories, so you just install it with zypper or yast and
you are done.

PC: oS 13.1 x86_64 | i7-2600@3.40GHz | 16GB | KDE 4.11 | GTX 650 Ti

Coming back to an old thread. Evolution and Google Contacts no longer play together well. There seems to be no way to connect Evolution to Google Contacts anymore. Later versions of Evolution, used in combination (on Gnome-based systems) with Online accounts, makes it possible. So, question, what is the SUSE community doing to correct this, if anything?

Thanks so much.

That’s not up to the openSUSE community, rather the GNOME / Evolution ones.
Or, maybe I don’t get your point. I’m using Evolution, a couple of “Online accounts” amongst which my main Google account, and this works as I would want it. I don’t see what should be corrected there.

I see that at least two people saw this post at the end of a long forgotten thread. Maybe because they are not only members, but also moderators and thus try ro check what is going on on the forums.

But from your point of view, when that is maximum exposure to your question, it would have been far better to start a new thread, with a fitting title. That is much more likely to show up in RSS feeds and other methods people use to check for new threads.

I spoke too soon!!! Evolution is in the repos, latest version, all is well. Many thanks!

You certainly did, and please heed Henk’s advice when you next need to post in these forums.
