Evolution Addressbook problem

Hi,

I am a new Opensuse user (previously Ubuntu) and have recently installed the 12.1 beta on my laptop. I have configured Evolution on my PC for e-mail, but am not able to use

the address book. It says:

This address book cannot be opened. Please check that the path /home/jigar/.local/share/evolution/addressbook/system exists and that permissions are set to access it.

Detailed error message: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.AddressBook1: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Process /usr/lib/evolution-data-server/e-addressbook-factory exited with status 127

I think the e-addressbook-factory is crashing…when I tried to run the e-addressbook-factory from the terminal, I get the following error.

e-data-server-Message: adding type EBookBackendFileFactory' e-data-server-Message: adding type EBookBackendLDAPFactory’
e-data-server-Message: adding type EBookBackendVCFFactory' e-data-server-Message: adding type EBookBackendGoogleFactory’
e-data-server-Message: adding type `EBookBackendWebdavFactory’
e-addressbook-factory: symbol lookup error: e-addressbook-factory: undefined symbol: g_unix_signal_add_watch_full

Can you please help resolving the issue. I’d like to make use of Opensuse for my work. I am using Evolution 3.1.91

Thank you

does evolution work?can you send/receive emails?Do u have installeevolution-data-server?

I’ve had problems with Evolution corrupting address book and email folders on several computer. Some after accumulating several years of data.

Finally went to ThunderBird and it’s been completely reliable.

Something to consider if just starting out.
