EVDO Dial-up

Ok guys, I am in a bind here;
The only copy of Linux that works worth a poo on my lappy (hp dv5 1003nr - ati based) is the 11.1 pre release.

In the past, I have used kde4 with the kppp dialer from kde3 to connect to the internet (I also had a full dvd to work from). In this case however, I downloaded the kde4 live cd, and since everything seemed to be working for once (various sound/wireless/other issues in older editions), I installed the 11.1 RC

any how, long story short, ALMOST everything works.

When I use the kinternet program to dial in over my cell phone (it’s all I have guys work with me here), everything SEEMS to work; until I try to USE the internet that is. It will dial, connect, retrieve a DNS, and ip address. yet for some reason, resolv.conf never gets updated, the system never sees the phone as the default gateway etc. It just seems like the dial-up script is broken…

Is there something I missed? Any info on how the dial-up works now? Maybe even some info on why wvdial does the same thing? (yeah I tried that too)

Thanks in advance.

I haven’t used dialup for quite some time now, so can only offer limited advice.

Try dialling out, then execute the following commands (as root):

cat /etc/resolv.conf
route
ifconfig

Post the output.
