The espeak and mbrola pipe seems to have ceased to work in Suse 11.2, compared to being fine in Suse 11.1. For example, the command “espeak -v mb-en1 -f textfile | mbrola -e /usr/share/mbrola/en1/en1 - testespeak.wav” should build a wav file from the textfile. It doesn’t do this and instead just hangs. Individually, both espeak and mbrola test ok. The problem seems to be that the pipe no longer works as expected. BTW As can be seen in the command, I have the en1 language file installed at /usr/share/mbrola/en1/en1 In addition, I use KDE4.3.3.
Any thoughts would be appreciated,
Stuart
