Erste Installation OpenSuse

Liebe Leute,

I mean…

es=tumbleweed (von USB ISO-file)

Hallo,
zum Vergleich:

  • Mint 6.14 kernel, X11, nouveau (pascal), XFCE
  • openSUSE 7.0.1 kernel, Wayland, Nvidia (G07 Turing), GNOME

gut. vielen dank euch.

Nomodset.
Got it. A beginner friendly xplanation would be this, I believe:

Here’s how to test with nomodeset:
When the first openSUSE Installation menu appears, move the highlight to “Installation” and strike the “e” key. Then move the cursor to the end of the line (which may be wrapped) beginning with “linu” and ending with “splash=silent” and/or “quiet”, and without typing any quote marks, append a space and “nomodeset”, then proceed by striking F10 or Ctrl-X to see if black screen and no signal are avoided. If you see a green bar moving across the bottom of the screen that’s good. Strike the ESC key to see more information while the boot process proceeds.

update-bootlaoder --del-option nomodeset
und danach
update-bootloader --config

Rechner einfach neu starten.

sudo zypper in nvidia-open-driver-G06-signed-kmp-meta

Okay, krass.

Korrekt?

It frickin WORKS!
Es klappt jetzt Einsatz.

Wunderbar.

Linux Mint:
Release-getrieben, eher konservatione Paket-Versionen, grub-efi, ext4, apparmor(?), …

openSUSE Tumbleweed:
Rolling release, neue(ste) Paket-Versionen, systemd-boot, btrfs, snapshots, SELinux, …

Annahme!

Darum jetzt tumbleweed.
