I’m newbie to opensuse. I want to install rdesktop to connect windows system from opensuse linux system.
I have downloaded rdesktop rpm from net and installed with YAST.
Error occured, the error states that “rdesktop cannot be install due to missing dependency”.
Now what to do to install rdesktop…?
Is there any way other than rdesktop to connect windows system from opensuse?
Kindly provide me the solution.
As openSUSE 10.3 is not supported (for allready sometime) I am not amazed that the repos for it are gone. Thus it will be a bit difficult to find everything you need.
Why are you not using one ogf the supported levels (newest is 11.3)?
EDIT: And before I forget: WELCOME to these forums.
@martin_helm: did you miss that this is about openSUSE10.3? When not, can you give him the URLs for the repos he needs?
@kumar27siva
It is vey easy to install on a supported level. Just a few clicks. Even easier because on my 11.2 it is installed by default.
Are you sure it is not allready on your system? Check with YaST > Soiftware > Software management, type rdesktop in the search field and see what is shown.
I suppose that there is also a message that says which dependancy/ies is/are missing. You could of course try to find rpms for them on the net, but it will allways be the question if they fit together and fit with openSUSE 10.3.
Not much people here will even have a 10.3 installed to go with you through the motions (if that is possible at all).
In fact I am afraid that not going to a supported version will block you from a solution. But you could wait for another 24 or 48 hours to see if someone (who might be asleepp at this moment ) will come with something usefull.
That is very good news, thanks to Pilgervater. It will make also all the original 10.3 software vailable to you if you want any more.
But I would encourage you to plan an upgrade to 11.3. There are no updates, thus no secirity updates to openSUSE 10.3 allready for a long time. In the end you will get stuck somewhere at an inconvenient moment, thus better upgrade at leisure.

I thought since the OP uses 10.3 that the discontinued repos are known by
him/her
