help me to understand this more with three pieces of information:

  1. Please run in a console the command: lsusb – and post the results back here.
  2. Also, look in the handbook for your device and describe it to us, even if it is in microsoft/windows language.
  3. Is there an internet link to the product page for the device?

Thanks

ok, sorry

  2. what do you mean really? it is a wlan-chipset lsis 163u

  3. i only found driversites

I’ve read the data sheet.
AMILO Notebooks Archive - Home Notebooks - Fujitsu Siemens Computers
It is uncommunicative. All I can suggest is to use Ndiswrapper. There’s a tutorial here:
Madwifi or Ndiswrapper Wireless Network Drivers - Suse/openSUSE 10, 11 - LAN & Internet access
I can’t say whethet this will work because the device seems to be not properly sensed by the usb system – maybe try it and see.
Skip around the Madwifi parts.

hi

ndiswrapper i have installed, as in the documention listet, that i need this for this chipset

but after installing he loaded the win-driver regulary, without errors but i get no connection to my wlan-chipset

there is no wlan in the conection-manager available

GoTo Yast and select in (Global OPtions) traditional method with ifup and then if you do not see a device to configure (in Overview) then select to “add” it and proceed to configure it starting with Pic #5
