"Error loading operating system"

I think I killed it. I was running OpenSuse 11.3 KDE. Installed UNetBootIn and used it to install Zenwalk Core from an iso on my hard drive, to my hard drive. Halfway through the installation, the power goes out. I turn my computer back on. It goes through the Dell screen (F1 for Setup) and then “Error loading operating system.”

No cd or dvd drive. No floppy drive. BIOS doesn’t support booting from USB.

I’m screwed, aren’t I?

I posted this on Zenwalk’s forums as well but I’m hoping someone here might have something helpful.

(Also, I’m absolutely new to Linux. While I’ve read documentation available to me and I understand the basic concepts, please treat me like a four year old! I’d rather have things over-explained than not enough.)

So, I must think that either grub is no longer loaded or the boot partition is messed up. I guess I would try this procedure to reload grub.

Re-Install Grub Quickly with Parted Magic

Thank You,

Okay. Since I don’t have a cd, dvd or floppy drive, and can’t boot from USB in BIOS (no BIOS updates available to give me that option either), my only option is to get one of those drives installed and use Parted Magic to get Grub?

How did you install openSUSE?
