A few days back, the new AMD driver 15.5 version released. Since Sebastian’s script has not yet been updated, so I tried installing it myself… however, when I try to install it, it gives the following error:
Supported adapter detected.
Check if system has the tools required for installation.
fglrx installation requires that the system have kernel headers. /lib/modules/4.0.4-3-desktop/build/include/linux/version.h cannot be found on this system.
One or more tools required for installation cannot be found on the system. Install the required tools before installing the fglrx driver.
Optionally, run the installer with --force option to install without the tools.
Forcing install will disable AMD hardware acceleration and may make your system unstable. Not recommended.
FYI: 15.3 version was working fine with Sebastian’s script on Tumbleweed until the kernel updated to 4.0.4… and even reinstalling 15.3 doesn’t work anymore now.
So, coming back to this issue, there was no directory called “linux” in /lib/modules/4.0.4-3-desktop/build/include… and i’m not sure which package will install the kernel header file. kernel-devel and kernel-source are already installed… should i just run the installer with --force? or what additional things need to be done?
