I recently install OpenSUSE 11.3, during installation I got an error (Attached)
After installation when i open My Computer and click I wasn’t able to enter in /home & / thru there, (maybe missing supporting Lib/software) which fixed after the online updates.
It is possible to sometimes install with a broken cd/dvd, but it’s not recommended. You could try skipping, but you may find there are more broken packages if the DVD fails the media check.
No, i didn’t check the media before installation (My Bad)
And yes i skipped that package and it’s working fine apart from few problems which could be due to some other reason
like when my laptop goes on screen saver after being Idle for several minutes it becomes too slow at first i thought it was due to desktop effect, i turned it off and it started working properly
but then this morning, my laptop frooze on screen saver… so now i just tured off screen saver
anyway, isn’t there any way to install that package from YaST or Zypper?
Loading repository data…
Reading installed packages…
‘desktop-translations’ is already installed.
No update candidate for ‘desktop-translations-11.3-12.1.1.noarch’. The highest available version is already installed.
Resolving package dependencies…
Nothing to do.
Seems like it installed with the first update
Thanks guys,
Just one question, my taskbar change it colors to black every now and then from white…
then i have to go in configure desktop and play with colors and then it becomes again white.

Strange
Try changing theme to oxygen
See if that’s more stable - even if it’s not your choice of colour
You may be having the same problem I had. I wrote a how to to fix the problem and it may fix it for you as well. Look here: How to fix discolored KDE panel
