At what point during the installation did the error happen?
Which version of openSUSE are you attempting to install?
What is the brand/make/model of the laptop, and what video controller is
in it?

When you say “actual installation process”, do you mean at the start of
the file copy process, or at package selection, or when the EULA is
displayed?
Or is it before the installer has loaded - do you get the EULA?

At the file copy process, I did not reach the EULA

OK, a little puzzled now, because the EULA is before the file copy
process.
Are you getting a graphical installer?

Yes, EULA is the first or second screen that comes up - before selecting
an new install or an upgrade.

OK, so video is to some degree being detected (might be coming up as
VESA). The VAIO laptops have always been somewhat problematic to get
Linux running on, though more recent ones and distros seem to be better
than they used to be.
A quick search of the forums turns up a couple of threads about 1007
errors in the installer on 11.4 and suggests that there is no space on
the drive for a partition.
Is this drive blank, or does it have something installed on it?
If you boot to recovery mode, what’s the output of:
fdisk -l
(put the output in code tags in the forum - you’ll need to “Go advanced”
in the message editor to do that)

Hm, maybe you mean the percentage of loading the Kernel (that is indeed at the very beginning).
You should realy describe everything you see. We are not at your place, thus we are more or less blind and depend completely on your explanations.
