Error 2 when trying to 'make' XFI drivers

I downloaded the TAR file from the Creative website, containing 64bit drivers for Linux, for the XFI sound card, which I have.

I was able to extract the files, and use ./configure.

The next step should be ‘make’ and ‘make install’ but both give me an ‘error [2]’ upon giving those commands. What can I do to install the drivers? Is there another way?

When compiling, you must make sure you have kernel sources, kernel syms,gcc/gcc++ & make installed.

Well, I also used the ‘make’ and ‘make install’ commands when installing the ALSA driver (which I understood is a prerequisite for XFI usage) and that worked fine. I assume that means I allready have the files you mention, installed?

I just found another topic on this forum, from someone who gets the exact same error as I do, namely ‘error 2’:
