Error 17 when Installing

Hello,
I’m new to the forums and a novice to the Linux scene.

I installed Mac OS X 10.6, Windows 7 Ultimate, and made 4 partitions.

OSX and 7 installed fine, but when I tried to install SUSE, it stopped at 92%.

I get this error:

grub>setup --stage2=/boot/grub/stage2 --force-lba (hd0,3) (hd0,3)

Error 17: Cannot mount selected partition
grub> quit

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How did you make these partitions?? General the best practice is to allow free unpartitioned space and let the installer create the partitions.

I made them with Leopard and then changed it to ext3 in suse. Should it be Fat32?

17 : Cannot mount selected partition
This error is returned if the partition requested exists, but the
filesystem type cannot be recognized by GRUB.

Funny.

You say you made the partition with leopard, but did you allow linux to
format it?
