erronious root login on vt1

After installing 11.3-M6 from DVD (fresh install), I’m getting a message when shutting down from x-windows session that there is a root login on TTY at vt1.

Since I haven’t yet logged in as root on vt1 I’m not sure where this came from. Searching files in /root, /var, and /etc hasn’t been fruitful. It also gives a loud beep after clicking ok to shutdown.

Any suggestions regarding where to look further?

It must be a minor bug because its happening with me too
I say minor because its a minor irritant. Nothing that affects any operation. By the way the list seems to grow

I think it is something with switching to Upstart, because if I remember correctly, it started to be so from Milestone 4.
