Equalizer issues

Hi,

I am using LEAP 42.2 with Gnome. I felt that the music I play always was a bit ‘flat’. So I installed Pulseaudio-Equalizer. I was blown away by the difference when setting it to presets like Pop or Club. But now, when I change the volume I have this horrible crackling sound. Also playing a video from Youtube is really bad to the ears. When you turn of the equalizer the crackling sound is gone, but also Pulse is back at the flat & dead sound it produces without the equalizer.

I read on some other forums that this equalizer isn’t maintained any more and I should look at qpaeq. But this one doesn’t work at all. Nothing happens when you move the sliders and also this equalizer has no presets at all.

So I have the following questions:

  1. Is there a solutions for the crackling sound with Pulseaudio-Equalizer
  2. Are there any more system wide equalizers for Gnome?

Try using Ladspa from the pavucontrol
