Epson BX625FWD no duplex

Hi

I just migrated from debian to opensuse and I am trying to get my epson printer bx625fwd to work. I’ve tried various drivers (see below), yet, none of them support duplex printing. However, I do know that duplex printing is possible because I could do it with debian, yet, I don’t remember which driver I used. Any tips on getting duplex printing working on opensuse? Thanks!

drivers I’ve tried:
software.opensuse.org:
Epson Inkjet Printer Driver (ESC/P) for Linux | AVASYS CORPORATION
EPSON Download Center (bx620fwd ones)

I’m not familiar with this model, but in an effort to help, I downloaded and installed the ‘epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series-1.0.1-1lsb3.2.x86_64.rpm’ driver package. After installing it, I configured via the CUPS web interface

http://localhost:631/

I added the printer manually, and when I got to the make/model selection, I navigated to ‘/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series/ppds/Epson/Epson-Stylus_Office_BX620FWD_Series-epson-driver.ppd.gz’

Once I did that, I then checked out the available printing options (Set Default Options), I note that ‘Auto Duplex Printing’ can be selected.

I can’t assist further, since I don’t actually own the printer, but I hope this helps.

Thanks, this worked like a charm. I guess it’s important to configure the printer via CUPS web interface instead of YAST. Thanks again!

I’m happy to have been of help!
