Hi
I’m using kile in suse 11.1 with kde 4.2. It was working perfectly until today when eps figures disappeared from output files (ps,dvi or pdf). Only suspicious message that I get says that it could not find pdftex.def in /usr/share…/. I downloaded this pdftex.def and copied in mentioned directory but still get the same message. I reinstalled the kile from opensuse website but still having the same problem. Interestingly if I print my output file figures are printed but they are not visible on output file.
Any suggestion to resolve this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
shs28
pdftex is only relevant to PDF output and PS only accepts EPS files as linked files. So the problem isn’t in pdftex but in the linking.
One possibility is that you have a space or other ‘illegal’ character in the path to the folder which holds the images. TeX was developed over twenty years ago and only accepts files with strictly legal Unix pathnames.
hi
Thanks for your reply.Filenames that I’m using are very simple, say, aaa.eps etc. Secondly it was working perfectly before therefore I think(!!) it is not a filename problem. Any other idea…
Thanks,

I don’t use Kile; so I don’t think I can help you sort out the rest.
I’m having the same issue. I have some projects which worked fine under an older version of Kile but the new version, 2.0.83, gives me the eps format error.
Have you managed to find a solution?
