Hi people,
I am new here, beside to be an opensuse-User since Version 10.1, and more or less active user in german opensuse-forum linux-club.de - let us say more needing help than having an answer.
I have been ever a KDE-Fan, since 3.5 up to now, Gnome was for me always a big mess, but lately I started to like very much the E17-Desktop/WM.
I never went out to install it properly in opensuse from their repos, stuff did not work, so I turned to bodhi-linux, ubuntu-based and treating very well E17, catching my eye like a playground, very nice!
I also had a try to latest petite-linux, based on opensuse12.2, also with E17-DE, but there I did not get connection to internet; this eConnMan- internet-connector does not connect my usb.modem; beside of this, lovely too
Hopefully there will be more stuff coming from E17-side and also opensuse-side, I would like to have seen the Themes from Agust intergrated here, have a look at bodhi-linux, there you see a lot of beautiful themes for E17
Hello Martin. Happy to have you here. I am glad you are liking E17, but your message is not really a request for help. So, if I may, move your message thread to Chit-Chat instead. And its OK to post your message of joy. Please hold while I move it to the right place.
Thank you, jdmcanle,
u was right, no post for help, just to remember people that there is a life beyound KDE and Gnome.
I hope to find some more E17 followers here.
Biggest problem fot me in E17 has been connecting to internet via usb.modem
now this works fine, the way is >application >system >configuration >network, you get network-manager, looks like a gnome-application with this Airplane Mode on/off, choosing mobile broadband, airplane on and you are connected.
Maybe this is setup on my KDE-konfiguration, I do not know
Anyway, clicking on the options-button at down right, I can handle nw-manager as I know it from KDE
no matter if it is different in E17, should learn it
So, any interest envolving E17 from opensuse-side?
So I do remember another forum question about E17, but not much activity because the package is not officially supported though you did get it to work. There is nothing wrong about asking if there are any other followers that are here. I would say your best chance for fellow E17 users would be to visit their local website here:
On Derivatives - openSUSE
I can find a link to MangOeS-Linux, but this gives only facebook.homepage of them.
Any idea where I can find a download-site?
Google did not help.
