endless loop of updating system configuration in dolphin

today when i started my kde4 desktop and then edited a flv video file’s property to set default opening it with smplayer and then click apply it just shows the progress bar for “updating system configuration” that goes to 100% and again goes to 100% and again and again indefinitely ??? and when cancel it it cancels the whole thing and my changes are forgotten :frowning:

how can i fix this?

I logged out and in again and it got corrected somehow , so I think it was a “stuck somewhere” bug :wink:

Same problem in SLED11.

Loging in again only works some of the time, but less and less. Any thoughts ?
