Encryption takes too long

Hello! I Have now some virtual machines of opensuse, and I am trying to return to opensuse in my production machines. However, I want to solve some questions first. I am explaining the main one here.
In the installation process, I am offered full encryption for the whole disk. It sounds great; however, it takes too long to start the system. I have other encrypted systems and are not so slow. Can I configure it? Or should I make a different encryption? But I have not found it… Thanks a lot for your help!

How sure are you this is due to the encryption?

See this topic for some commands you can use to get some information on where time is spent. Share the output here if you want further help.

my tumbleweed install ( full encryption 1 tb drive) takes about 5 sec. from time i put in the password to starting to boot

Hello, with systemd-analyze I can see this:

jose@localhost:~> sudo systemd-analyze
[sudo] contrase\C3\B1a para root:
Startup finished in 472ms (kernel) + 4.342s (initrd) + 4.148s (userspace) = 8.963s
graphical.target reached after 4.120s in userspace.
jose@localhost:~>

From the moment in which I type the encryption key in the black screen, to the moment of watching first screen, it takes nearly 20 seconds.

What exactly “watching first screen” means? What “first screen” do you mean?

But educated guess is that you are seeing SDB:Encrypted root file system - openSUSE Wiki

I mean the screen in which we choose default start or kernel options

So, first, I find a black screen that asks me for the encryption key. And, about 20 seconds after, I find the usual opensuse boot start that we always find: default start, other kernels, etc.

Did you try to read the link I posted?

systemd-analyze does not share that.

The other two command listed on that page give way more information, please share the output of these.
