I have a Dell XPS 17 (L702x) which has a trackpad with multitouch support but not all is well. I am running openSUSE 12.2 with KR49 repos.
So a little context (skip the content in the quote if you want):
This past weekend I stayed at a friends house and messed around a little with his Mac. I’m not convinced by OSX at all but it is definitely well polished. I think the animations and default shortcuts are well polished but nothing exceptional. What does impress me is the way multitouch gestures with the trackpad are integrated in throughout. A particularly pleasing experience was Safari. So now I want to see if I can replicate this behavior because I use my trackpad a lot and it could be quite nifty.
At the moment three-finger and two-finger click works as well as two-finger scroll. What doesn’t work is pinch-to-zoom and three finger swipes. I know these gestures work on Windows 7 (well pinch-to-zoom and pinch-rotate do). Somebody suggested I try x11-input-mtrack to see if that helps but it breaks my trackpad so I removed it and reinstalled synaptics driver.
Does anybody have any clue as to what I can use to get this functionality? Thanks a ton.
