Hi all,
I’m using openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE and I want to enable the KDE telemetry. I see that kuserfeedback is installed by default but from what I found out in other discussions KDE is compiled with a flag to exclude the telemetry for openSUSE. What could I do to enable it for my openSUSE Tumbleweed installation?
First, welcome to the openSUSE Forums.
Yes, it seems that, the KDE Telemetry is disabled for the moment on openSUSE systems –
- The last log files I have in my ‘~/.local/share/plasmashell/kuserfeedback/audit/’ directory are dated July 2022.
Thank you dcurtisfra for the answer and the welcoming words
I was not able to find more information on whether there are official plans from SUSE to reactivate KDE telemetry again. At least for me, it feels bad to not be able to support my desktop environment of choice by providing some basic usage data which helps KDE’s development.
What could I do to enable KDE telemetry myself on openSUSE?
For example in Kate, within the user settings, there’s an option to enable the User Feedback and Telemetry: <https://kate-editor.org/post/2020/2020-02-09-kate-telemetry/>.
AFAICS, there’s no other opportunity available currently to take part in the KDE User Feedback with openSUSE systems.
