Enable Duplex Printing On Brother MFC-9130CW

All,

I am trying to track down as to why duplex printing is not available for the Brother printer. I have poked around in Yast, and I don’t see any way to enable it.
I installed the printer via the Brother RPM file.
Can someone point me in the right direction because I am not sure where to proceed.

Thanks,

Tim

EDIT: My apologizes, the printer is 9130CW and not 0130CW.

Open the PPD file with a Text Editor and check if there’s a section which looks something like this (the example is a German language PPD … ):

*% Duplex Definitions
*OpenUI *Duplex/Duplex: PickOne
*OrderDependency: 50 AnySetup *Duplex
*DefaultDuplex: DuplexNoTumble
*Duplex None/Keine: "statusdict begin false setduplexmode false settumble end"
*Duplex DuplexTumble/Schmalseite: "statusdict begin true setduplexmode true settumble end"
*Duplex DuplexNoTumble/Längsseite: "statusdict begin true setduplexmode false settumble end"
*?Duplex: "
  save
  statusdict begin
  duplexmode
  {tumble {(DuplexTumble)}{(DuplexNoTumble)} ifelse}
  {(None)} ifelse
  = flush end restore"
*End
*CloseUI: *Duplex

If there aren’t any Duplex definitions in the PPD then, the manufacturer’s PPD doesn’t support Duplex printing with Linux or anything else *NIX – Mac for example …

Guessing that is my issue. Here is all I see when I look for “Duplex” in the file:

*%=== UI Constraints ==================================
*%    PageSize - Duplex
*%UIConstraints: *PageSize JISB5 *Duplex
*%UIConstraints: *PageSize JISB6 *Duplex

*%    PageRegion - Duplex
*%UIConstraints: *PageRegion JISB5 *Duplex
*%UIConstraints: *PageRegion JISB6 *Duplex
...
*%=== Duplex ================================

Thanks

Hi,
According to the specification, your printer is not capable
of duplex printing. You can still print duplex manually by using
the odd and even number feature, but you have to reload the printed paper
again to print on the other side

I was completely mistaken. The other day I was working off my laptop with Windows 10 running the Brother software to find that I actually didn’t have the option to perform duplex printing.

Thanks everyone for the help.
