Empty desktop after booting

Hello all

Please help a newbie. I was just trying my freshly installed openSUSE gnome and clicked on something like “visual efficts” and then “enable visual effects” checkbox. Then suddenly everything disappeared, all I have now is the green wallpaper and the mouse pointer. Waited a while then rebooted: the rebook results to the same.

What can I do?

Hi
If you press the key combination alt+ctrl+F1 you should get to a
console login. From there login as your user, then run the following
commands;

rm .config/compiz/enable-compiz
touch .config/compiz/disable-compiz
exit

Now press the key combination alt+ctrl+F7 to return to the GUI (broken)
and press and hold alt+ctrl and press the backspace button twice (to
restart the GUI.
