Hello, I accidentally dropped my backpack in the gym with my laptop in it.
The computer boots but my login password isn’t working. Is there a way to bypass it?
I need to access data on this computer ASAP!
Thank you for your time.

Please remove this thread. I logged in as root and found out that default login keyboard for my main account was changed from English to Greek. Fixed

I don’t see how the password would change just by dropping the machine.
You surely broke your harddisk or the motherboard, and need take it to a
shop for replacing.
Boot from the rescue live cd/usb, and run diagnostics on the hard disk
and ram. After you do that, we’ll consider a password reset - unless it
is encryption, in which case you can’t do anything — unless you are with
the cia, kgb, mi6, sureté, mosad, or mafia. No kidding intended.
I don’t buy the password thing, though.

We generally don’t remove threads, and that you’ve provided the answer to
your issue may help someone else down the road - that helps build the
knowledge base.
Glad you got it sorted out.

Sorry can’t resist, probably the gods were in the gym practice for the olympics and got curios with the laptop.
