Embedded Flash with glitches on Chromium

Hi,
I’ve a problem with Chromium [v. 26.0.1383.0 (176610)] and flash. Flash objects have glitches. When I scroll down flash graphics are being “repeated” or smudged. Problem doesn’t exist on any other webbrowser.
Flash version: 11.2 r202. Problem persists if hardware acceleration is disabled.

Hi, welcome

Two causes come to mind:

  • Hardware acceleration in Flash. Can be turned off by right clicking in a flash vid, then disable the hardware acceleration
  • The video card. Which one, is a driver installed?

Problem occurs with hardware acceleration disabled or enabled.
My video card is ATI radeon X1950Pro. I see that I’ve xorg-x11-driver-radeonhd (1.3.0_20100512_80ba041-11.1.2) and xf86-video-ati (6.14.4-4.1.2) installed. I’m not 100% sure which one is being used right now, but when I look inside /var/log/Xorg.0.log there is a lot of “(II) RADEON(0)” occurences and lspci/lsmod commands tell me that “radeon” module is in use.

As I said before, there is no problem on other webbrowsers.

Have you only started seeing this in the latest Chromium?
Have you tried an earlier version of Chromium? There are a few earlier versions in the update repo.

Not too much into AMD/ATI cards, but could it be you need the fglrx-legacy drivers?
