Email being blocked

This is probably the wrong place to post, but I’m not sure what is the right place.

It looks as if my ISP (AT&T) is blocking email from bugzilla. That probably affects other users too.

For the moment, I’m checking the online opensuse-bugs mailing list archives. I see that there are two messages that I should have received today, but didn’t receive. And there are several others over the last week or so.

Question 1: If I change my registered email address will that affect existing bug reports or only new ones? And will affect mailing list subscriptions (factory, for example). I’m guessing no on the mailing lists.

Question 2: Is there a place to report this? (Is there a suitable bugzilla category?) – so that someone can contact AT&T and complain.

The probably affects mail to addresses with the following domains: att.net, ameritech.net, pacbell.net, swbell.net, bellsouth.net, prodigy.net – those all go through the same at&T (or prodigy) mail servers.

Question 3: If I decide to switch email addresses, can somebody remind me of the procedure to do that – I seem to recall that it is complicated.

Hi
Have you logged into the web interface and checked the spam folder?

Yes, I have checked that. It is not in the spam folder.

Mail first goes to AT&T servers, which block what they suspect is spam.

If it gets past that block, it is forwarded to Yahoo, which would move suspected spam to the spam folder. So this is not getting as far as Yahoo servers. It is almost certainly being blocked at the AT&T servers. The blocking seems to have started around 2-3 weeks ago.

Hi
So it’s not on any normal blocklist…

Probably send an email to one of the folks in the whois info above, but they would probably ask you to contact your ISP…

Not a bad place, but you can also ask at a mail list. Not sure which,
though.

You can probably ask some admin at opensuse to have a look at rejection
messages :-?

It only affects any new post that bugzilla has to send to you, on any
old or new bug.

That’s right, no effect.

I think there is a bugzilla on bugzilla itself. I’m about to go to bed,
I can have a look tomorrow. I did report something on bugzilla time ago,
let me see… yep:

Product: openSUSE.org
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Bugzilla

No idea about that…

I don’t remember if it is tied to… I mean, I think the forums use the
same address.

I don’t remember the procedure, though. Did it once… yep, at the time
(2009) I did it at http://www.novell.com/center. Surely it is not there now.

I think it comes from a novell.com address.

It only affects any new post that bugzilla has to send to you, on any
old or new bug.

So it looks as if changing email address (to “gmail” for example) would solve my problem. But it wouldn’t help others with the same ISP.

That’s right, no effect.

Okay. I’m not actually receiving mail from mailing lists anyway. I signed up to be able to submit, but I read online at the web archives. So if I change email address, I can keep sending any mailing list mail with the old address

Thanks (and thanks to Malcolm).

Hi, I have encountered to be blocked with no reasons at all and I really do not know why. Maybe, It is for some computer issues or a page error:)
