I’ve successfully installed ELISA (0.5.30) on my OpenSuse11 (Installing python-twisted packages were required). Then succesfully added my media directories editing the conf file. Now inside Elisa I can see my video, audio and image files. Images part is working fine. Video thumbnails are also loading properly. But whenever I play my music files (suppose mp3) it shows buffering and then nothing is played, the slider remains static. Same with video. No PLAYING FAILURE message is thrown.
Elisa has a great looks & feel. So want to make it work. Any help? Thanks in advance.
Ehhhhh!!! Am replying to myself again. This is my second problem to which no one responded (1st was connecting net from terminal, with script).
Someone, any idea. I wan2 use ELISA.
Hi
I’ve installed it from the packman repository along with the gstreamer,
python files and added python-xdg and xdg-user-dirs and it’s working
fine on both 64bit and 32bit versions of openSUSE 11.1 using media
files stored on my NAS.
I also have installed with gstreamer & python and it’s working fine with images. But can’t play music or video. I’m not sure about the added python-xdg and xdg-user-dirs part that you mentioned, can u please explain in little more details about that?
Thanks for your sitation. At first i was upset after checking that every dependencies required were installed & upToDate. Then I uninstalled my existing w32 codecs (Thinking that i installed them after downloading the rpm and using rpm -i) and installed it through software manager in YaST. Then after starting Elisa at told that it just installed 7 updates (Internet connection was on) and needs to restart. After restarting Elisa everything is running fine.
I’m not sure whether reinstalling w32-codecs solved the problem or those 7 updates. But thing is, it’s running. Thanks.
