Eliminating Graphical boot

I have an appliance booting to run level 3, but I would like to change the boot up so that the resolution defaults to text as opposed to auto-detecting something. I wouldn’t mind just eliminating the graphics mode all together.

Hi
You can modify the grub menu.lst to remove the splash=silent option.
You can rebuild the initrd and not use the splash, have a look at the
man page for mkinitrd.

Unfortunately, SuseStudio does not keep my changes to menu.lst. I have also tried putting a new version as an overlay file, but no luck there either.

Hi
What about if you build as a vmware image, view and modify
the files. Check in test drive then build as an iso. Else you could use
the kiwi method to create locally?

What’s so bad about the graphical boot?
