Hi!
I’ve got OpenSUSE 11.4 with kernel 3.1.5-1-desktop.
My Elantech touchpad is not detected properly by the system. I thought that installing kernel 3.1.5-1 will solve the problem, but it didn’t.
Touchpad scroll doesn’t work. (On suse 12.1 fresh install it is also detected as ps/2 mouse).

Can anyone help me?? The problem is not solved for over 1 year…
What does hwinfo say about your pointing device? You can see that in Yast’s hardware info or run
hwinfo --mouse
as root from a terminal.
Also did you check the HCL for your specific laptop brand/model?
