Either NetworkManager or YaST Network Management?

I haven’t been using Linux for years. I recently did a fairly vanilla Leap 15.6 install and found that YaST doesn’t manage the network by default. The Network Settings widget I get a warning that says: " Network is currently handled by NetworkManager or completely disabled. YaST is unable to configure some options." I got a similar result when installing the KVM hpervisor.

I believe the installation script gave me the choice of NetworkManager, Wicked, or no network configuration. I have many questions about this situation, but I’ll start with this: Going forward, will the default be to use NetworkManger rather than YaST for network configuration?

Some of the documentation still says to use YaST for things that YaST says it doesn’t do with NetworkManager in use. For example Setting up a KVM VM Host Server | Virtualization Guide | openSUSE Leap 15.5

That seems to be the future direction.

You can still switch to using “wicked” with Yast.

I am using KVM. Somewhere in the Wiki, it indicates how to set that up when using NetworkManager.
